Granulator

Product Description

ASG’s plastic granulator cuts whole PET plastic bottles into small, uniform pieces, or more popularly known as PET flakes between 12-18mm in size. The size of the PET flakes can be adjusted using a sizing screen located beneath the granulator.

Our PET washing line uses a modified plastic granulator called a wet granulator where water is continuously sprayed into the cutting chamber. There are two advantages for using a wet granulator:

  1. PET bottles are partially washed as they’re being cut into flakes.
  2. The water acts as a lubricate lowering friction and heat which will decrease the frequency of knife sharpening by 200-300%.

Using 12 rotor and 3 stationary knives, our granulator knives are arranged in a double-angle cutting array. All ASG granulator knives are made from high-quality D2 (SDK11 equivalent) high-carbon, high-chromium steel which ensures longest usage times before sharpening is required. All knives are easily adjustable with hydraulic assisted access to the cutting chamber. The exchange and sharpening of knives cannot be more easy and less time consuming.
